The raisins market is stable except for brown raisins.

In India, raisins are mainly produced in Sangli, Solapur and Nashik districts of Maharashtra and Vijayapura and Bagalkot districts of Karnataka. India has achieved a production level in the range of 55,000 to 65,000 tonnes of raisins, which is next to Turkey at the world level.

According to sources, farmers have a huge stock of goods in the cold storages of Sangli, Tasgaon lines, the main raisin producing centers of Maharashtra, and are now gradually selling the stocked goods due to the demand arising in the festive season. In the current season, like farmers, big Kirana (Grocery) traders have bought and stocked goods, due to which there were not many activities from Maharashtra in last couple of months.

Now from September first week traders have become active as demand has emerged in the domestic market. International demand is also expected to increase which might help the prices remain stable, though the stock is available in good quantity.
