How to write a report

The headline should not answer any questions but raise questions that the reader hopes to find answered in the text. The headline can be somewhat provocative. The headline should start with the name of the product which is covered in the article. It can be the name of a product (example: Sunflower seeds) or a group of products if it covers a wider range (example: Oilseeds).

2. Teaser
The teaser should reflect what is coming in the text. Please put this in 2 or 3 sentences. Before you write the text, please write a city or area where this news is related.

GUJARAT – Weather conditions have changed dramatically, many farmers are facing extinction. Especially farmers of sesame seeds expect tough challenges on the way to the new crop.

3. Text
In the text, everything will be resolved. The question from the headline will be answered. We try to give answers and describe why we see certain developments. It is essential to always work with facts in the text. If you refer to facts, you have to name these facts (e.g., prices). You need to write the price changes, quantities, average prices in the last year, etc., in the text. It is not enough to write that prices have changed without giving exact figures.

Important: In the texts, one’s own views must be avoided. Therefore, do not use formulations such as “I am of the opinion…”. Instead, use formulations such as: “Market participants are of the opinion…”. We always write in the 3rd person so that the reader does not get the impression that personal opinions are being disseminated here, but that sound, well-researched knowledge is being used.

4. Tables
You can write your report and copy it to our website. This will help you with the spelling. Also, you should work with tables that can be placed at the end of your report. These tables should contain all necessary information about prices or statistics, depending on the topic of your report.

5. Categories
Select the correct categories by clicking them. It can be one or more, depending on the report.

7. Featured image
Select an image from our image database for your report. Click “Set featured image,” then go through the database or use the search function and click on the image you prefer and click “Set featured image”. If you can’t find a suitable image in our database, please let us know.

8. SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Your report must look good for search engines such as google or bing. If you scroll down below your text, you can see a quick preview of the google search result. Usually, you must make some entries to improve it.

For example, if you write a popcorn market report, you must enter the focus keyphrase popcorn market report. Click “Get related keyphrases” to see which other words will be used in related user searches.

The SEO title should be with a green line. As it uses some standard features, it is already fine in some cases. If it is red, you must include some words related to the headline.

Copy the teaser into the meta description box, and the line will change to green.

Keep an eye on the Google preview window. Does it look good? If not,  the problem usually is that the teaser was not copied correctly.

Finally, look at the SEO analysis. It will show you which things are good and which things can be improved. Some things are easy to improve (keywords, keyphrase, internal link, see topic 6: Link to our membership services); others are difficult (outbound links).
