In Andhra Pradesh and other producing states, the new red chillies crop has recently increased, but more than the total arrival is needed to suffice the demand. Therefore, there may be a recession in red chillies only after the increase in arrivals in the coming days.

Low arrivals-prices increased

After the cyclone in Tamil Nadu recently, the total arrival of red chilli has started in central red chilli-producing states of the country like Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. However, the arrival is lower than expected, so the red chilli number 334 in the local wholesale grocery market has recently increased by around $0,12-$0,14 per kg.

Now the effect of the storm has also ended. Earlier, the arrival of the new crop of red chillies had started increasing in central districts of Andhra Pradesh. In Andhra’s Guntur market, the arrival of fresh red chillies was reported to have increased to about 0.018-0.020 thousand bags. Presently, including this, about 0.04-0.045 million bags of red chillies are said to have arrived in the Guntur market these days.

Future Scenario

Due to an increase in offtake in the wholesale grocery market located in the capital Delhi, number 334 red pepper, after increasing by $24,15 recently, has declined by $6,04 and currently remains at the level of $2,71/2,83 per kg. Therefore, until there is a substantial increase in the arrival of the new crop of red chillies in the coming days, there is no possibility of a slowdown.

The Chilli dried long red stemless prices were recorded at $2,71 per kg FOB.
