Organic date prices in Palestine, Algeria and Pakistan remain firm and mostly stable, supported by new-season harvests, hot dry weather and steady export demand.

Organic date prices across Palestine, Algeria and Pakistan are broadly steady into the new crop window, with only a marginal uptick in Palestinian Medjool while Algerian Deglet Nour and Pakistani diced dates remain unchanged. New-season Medjool harvesting in the Jordan Valley and Jericho area coincides with firm export demand, while hot, dry conditions in Algeria’s Biskra/Tolga belt and Pakistan’s Sindh clusters support good quality but raise irrigation and handling costs. Exporters in all three origins are actively targeting premium markets with organic and higher-value presentations, keeping FOB indications well supported despite generally comfortable global date supplies.

Prices

Price action is very limited this week, pointing to a broadly balanced market:

  • Palestine – Organic Medjool, FOB Palestine: 12.95 EUR/kg, up slightly from 12.90 EUR/kg last week, reflecting the start of the main export window and tight availability of premium large sizes.
  • Algeria – Organic Pitted Deglet Nour, FOB Algeria: 7.20 EUR/kg, unchanged over the past week and month, suggesting demand and supply are in near equilibrium for organic export-grade fruit.
  • Pakistan – Organic diced dates (5–10 mm, without rice flour), FOB Pakistan: 5.28 EUR/kg, stable, with sufficient raw material for processing and no acute logistics disruption reported.

Supply & Demand

In Palestine, Medjool harvesting is concentrated in the Jordan Valley and around Jericho, with farms reporting the usual late August–September peak cutting window and very active export programs into Q4. Recent local reporting from the Jordan Valley highlights a slightly delayed start to picking in some groves but broadly optimistic expectations for yield and quality this season.

Algeria’s Deglet Nour supply remains abundant, supported by expanding export-oriented packers in Biskra/Tolga and other Ziban oases promoting premium-grade fruit to international buyers. Organic volumes are still a niche but growing segment, and current flat prices indicate that export interest is sufficiently strong to absorb available offers without discounting.

Pakistan’s date sector is moving past the peak of the 2026 harvest, with major clusters in Sindh and Balochistan supplying raw material for pitted, diced and paste products. For organic diced dates, processors report adequate throughput and a focus on value-added exports rather than spot bulk selling, which helps underpin current FOB quotations.

Weather & Crop Conditions (DZ, PK, PS)

Algeria’s primary Deglet Nour belt around Biskra is experiencing hot, hazy and windy conditions with daytime highs near 36–37°C over the next three days, ideal for final ripening and drying on the palm but adding to irrigation and labour stress. No major weather-related production threats are reported at this stage.

In Pakistan, Sindh’s date-growing areas remain very hot and dry, with forecast highs around 35–36°C and strong sunshine into early next week. The absence of significant rainfall during this period supports post-harvest drying and handling of dates destined for dicing and other processing.

Palestinian Medjool plantations in the Jordan Valley typically benefit from hot, arid conditions during the September harvest window, and current regional weather patterns continue to favour good sugar accumulation and low disease pressure. No disruptive heat spikes or storms have been flagged for the immediate short term.

Fundamentals & Drivers

  • Seasonal timing: Medjool exports from the Eastern Mediterranean are entering their peak shipping window from September through year-end, when global demand for premium dates typically rises, especially ahead of Western year-end holidays.
  • Product mix: Organic Medjool from Palestine and organic Deglet Nour from Algeria are positioned at the upper end of the quality spectrum, while Pakistan’s organic diced dates cater to ingredient and processing demand, smoothing overall price volatility across segments.
  • Export focus: Algerian exporters are actively marketing premium Deglet Nour for international markets, while Palestinian producers highlight origin and quality to differentiate from competing Medjool origins, supporting current FOB levels.

Trading Outlook

  • Palestine – Organic Medjool: With the main harvest underway and a modest uptick already visible, nearby prices are likely to remain firm to slightly higher for top grades. Buyers needing Q4 coverage should secure at least part of their volumes now rather than waiting for potential post-harvest tightness.
  • Algeria – Organic Deglet Nour: Sideways price action suggests a stable buying window. Importers can continue to negotiate on volume and specification, but major discounts appear unlikely while export demand is steady.
  • Pakistan – Organic diced dates: Stable fundamentals and no immediate weather or logistics shocks argue for a range-bound market in the short term. Ingredient users can continue spot purchasing, with limited urgency to forward-cover beyond immediate needs.

3-day Regional Price Direction (Indicative)

  • Palestine (PS, Medjool, FOB): Slight upward bias as export programs ramp up and premium sizes attract strong interest.
  • Algeria (DZ, Deglet Nour, FOB): Largely flat, with a neutral to mildly firm tone on high-quality organic lots.
  • Pakistan (PK, diced dates, FOB): Stable, with narrow trading ranges expected and limited speculative activity.
