Ukrainian rapeseed export and domestic prices soften amid higher supply, EU market correction and weak processor demand. Short-term downside, selective buying.
Prices
Port-side rapeseed prices in Ukraine have fallen over the last week to around 21,000–22,000 UAH/t on a CPT-port basis, reflecting increased supply and weaker European benchmarks. In the domestic market, processors are generally not willing to pay above 20,000–20,500 UAH/t CPT, and several plants have temporarily halted rapeseed procurement, being sufficiently covered for October processing.
Current indicative product quotations in EUR remain broadly stable for standard seed: FCA Kyiv at 0.45 EUR/kg, FCA Odesa at 0.46 EUR/kg for 42% min oil, 98% purity rapeseed, and CPT Odesa at 0.441 EUR/kg for grade 1 seed as of 14–15 October 2026. Meanwhile, Euronext November 2026 rapeseed futures have dropped to about 500 EUR/t, extending a multi-session decline and mirroring the softer tone in physical markets across Europe.

Supply & Demand
On the supply side, the Ukrainian export market is facing an increased flow of rapeseed toward ports, echoing the broader rise in available volumes in the EU. Ukrainian seed remains a key component of European supply, and the current influx of both domestic and imported (primarily Ukrainian) rapeseed into the EU has added to the downward pressure on prices.
Domestically, demand is clearly lagging supply. Several processing plants have suspended purchases as their rapeseed stocks are sufficient for processing through October, while others participate only opportunistically at reduced bid levels. Additionally, falling prices in the sunflower segment are amplifying pressure on rapeseed as processors shift more attention to new-crop sunflower and soy, further limiting immediate rapeseed offtake.

Fundamentals & External Drivers
The primary external driver is the recent correction in the European rapeseed complex. Euronext November 2026 futures have fallen towards the psychological 500 EUR/t mark in mid-October, down notably over the past 2–3 weeks. This has translated quickly into weaker import demand prices for Ukrainian seed, tightening margins for exporters and capping farm-gate bids.
Weather across Ukraine in the second half of October is turning cooler and wetter, with rain events and night frosts reported in central areas. While this has limited direct short-term impact on the already harvested rapeseed crop, it can slow logistics and fieldwork for other oilseeds, indirectly affecting supply flows. Logistics via major Ukrainian ports and western crossings remain crucial, and any disruption could quickly alter the balance between domestic processors and exporters, but currently the main pressure comes from abundant availability rather than logistical constraints.
Outlook & Trading Ideas
Near-term, the combination of high stocks, cautious processors and weaker Euronext futures suggests limited immediate upside for Ukrainian rapeseed prices. A stabilization or rebound on the European exchanges, stronger biodiesel margins or a pick-up in export buying interest would be needed to reverse the current downward trend. Until then, buyers remain in a relatively comfortable position.
- Farmers: Consider only limited spot sales at current 21,000–22,000 UAH/t CPT-port levels if cash flow is needed, while keeping flexibility on unsold volumes in case of a later futures-led recovery.
- Exporters: Use the weaker Euronext structure to hedge forward sales; focus on high-quality parcels that can command small premiums in tight European delivery windows.
- Processors: With many plants already covered through October, maintain disciplined pricing near 20,000–20,500 UAH/t CPT and monitor sunflower and soy spreads closely before expanding rapeseed buying programs.
3-Day Directional View (UA)
- Ukrainian ports (CPT): Slight downside bias; bids may test the lower end of the 21,000–22,000 UAH/t range if Euronext remains under pressure.
- Domestic plants (CPT): Mostly stable to slightly weaker around 20,000–20,500 UAH/t, with limited purchasing interest from covered processors.
- FCA inland (Kyiv/Odesa): EUR/kg indications expected broadly stable in the very short term, but sentiment remains soft and sensitive to further moves in EU futures.
