Due to the lack of good quality white sesame, if the import is delayed, it is estimated that there will be a rise. There is currently no demand for the export of a natural variety of white sesame because India’s sesame is the most expensive in the global market. Compared to other countries, the price of Indian sesame is higher.

Current Scenario

Indian sesame production is estimated to be 0.15 million to 0.75 million tonnes in the Kharif season. In which only 20 to 25% good quality sesame can be found. The quality of 75 to 80% sesame is not up to mark. Indian importers have made a deal to import 20 to 25 thousand tonnes of sesame from Nigeria, Sudan, and Brazil, whose arrival will start in December. By February-March, all the imported sesame will have arrived in India.

Korea’s tender of 6500 tonnes of sesame will be announced on Thursday. Those who will take Korea’s tender have to deliver white sesame to the Korean port in February-March due to the high price of India in the global market and Korea’s tender coming after a long time. The chances of getting orders from Nigeria, Sudan, Burkina Faso and Pakistan are high. There is no possibility of India getting any order in Korea’s tender.

Future Scenario

There is no possibility of slumpy trade in sesame in December due to increased imports in January. A large consignment of imported Sesame will land in India, and the chances of India getting orders in the upcoming 6500-tonne tender from Korea is less due to low stock availability.

Imported Sesame goods will come a little in December. Still, due to the support of local demand, there is no possibility of a decrease in the price of Sesame in December, but the cost of Sesame will decrease in January.
