ODESA: Purchasing prices for rapeseed in the ports of Ukraine remain quite high, despite the decline in world prices and demand from European consumers.
International traders increased the volume of purchases in the ports of Odessa and Chornomorsk, as a result of which the purchase prices for rapeseed rose to UAH 17,000-17,500/t or $475-480/t with delivery to the port.
The seasonal increase in rapeseed supply in the European market and the increase in the production forecast in the EU increase pressure on prices. EU showed active imports at the beginning of the season.
However, in Ukraine, the demand for rapeseed from exporters will remain stable due to the high margin of trade, so purchase prices will not decrease.
Now the weather in Ukraine is conducive to the sowing of winter rapeseed, and 841 thousand hectares or 87% of the planned area were sown with it, compared to 1.16 million hectares in 2021.
