Apricot trees bloomed in all regions of Malatya due to the increasing temperatures last week. Still, the sudden cold at the beginning of this week and even the expectation of dropping below minus at night brought the risk of frost. The current situation is still favorable, and it might end up with a good crop; however, April needs to be passed without frost accidents for a good harvest, and this danger is still present.

Market players stated that there is no raw material available anymore. Also, very few products are left in the hands of the traders, the remaining product is in the warehouses of the exporters, and most of them are under contract. This week, the prices remained stable, but there may be a slight increase due to the new season being a few months away.

Market players also informed that only exporters who are processing their outstanding orders work during Ramadan while many companies are closed. Price and yield rumors for the new season will start circulating in the markets after Eid al-Fitr. Demands are still weak.

Turkey exported 66.683 mt so far, which was 67.861 mt the previous year during the same period. Last week’s exports were with 1.534 mt apricots at the same level with 1.528 mt during the same week of the previous year.
