India: Black Pepper Having A Bear Grip In The Market

Vietnam, the largest producer and exporter of black pepper, has a favourable time in the market with the prices, India’s market continued with a bearish mode for the spice on Monday.

Prices for all varieties of black pepper dropped by 1,35 percent. The best export quality grade, i.e., MG1, dropped to $5,70 per kg, yet being the most expensive compared to other origins. The global market was much better, with Vietnam having a price tag of $3,90/ kg , an increase of 2,56 percent from the last closing.  Even Brazil had a better run in the market with a $3,95/ kg tag for the spice.

The domestic trend for black pepper has now become a concern for traders and farmers.
