According to the results for 2022, domestic agricultural producers can harvest about 16.8 million tons of sunflower seeds in net weight. This year’s gross harvest would exceed 2021 by more than 1.1 million tons.
“If we talk about the oilseed market, this year we see an absolute record picture – both in terms of area and yield. According to my calculations, favourable vegetative conditions that have developed this season will give us sunflowers with a net weight of 16.8 million tons and a bunker weight of 17 million tons “, said an expert.
Russian experts also stress that this year farmers will be able to harvest about 5.5 million tons of soybeans and 4 million tons of rapeseed.
“Last year, we had a record sowing area for flax – 1.5 million hectares. Farmers have sown 2 million hectares this year, and there were good weather conditions in the Urals, Volga region and central part of Russia so that we will harvest 1.95 million tons of oil flax,” the experts concluded their report.
This year, industry experts forecast a record for bot grains and oilseeds, with all estimates at 25 million tons (2021: 23 million tons) and some higher. Many analysts point out that the record crop in 2022 will be due to an increase in the gross harvest of soybeans and canola and favourable weather in most growing regions.
