Because of the new COVID lockdowns, the demand for the blue poppy seed has significantly declined in the EU. More and more Buyers are announcing scarce requirements from their clients what put pressure on the poppy suppliers in the Czech Republic.

The Hungarian biggest suppliers unanimously come up with no sales under 1.95 EUR/Kg price of the < 10 mg Morphine poppy seed. The vast majority of their stocks are sold out. The rest is not hurried to be sold out; hence, the Hungarian poppy can wait pleasantly until the new year Eastern March-April interval in the storages. The Hungarian domestic consumption has not decreased, and the supply for the Hungarian consumers is secure and smooth.
