The volume of gross rapeseed harvest in Belarus this year is planned to be brought to a level of more than 1 million tons, which is about 200 thousand tons higher than the level of 2022, Belarus Today reports with reference to the statement of the head of the main department of crop production of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Nikolai Leshik.
In order for the country to achieve such indicators, the expert continues, the oilseed must be placed on an area of at least 490 thousand hectares.

Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the gross harvest of rapeseed in the country should reach 1 million tons. According to him, in Europe, the demand for rapeseed oil is great even during the period of sanctions, and farmers should pay attention to the cultivation of not only rapeseed, but also winter barley.
