With the sky-high price of Indian cumin, merchants are misleading the market by doing business at such high prices. Break on foreign buying on the high cost of cumin; foreign buying will come in full force after correction.

Increase in prices of Indian cumin

The price of Indian cumin in the international market was $645,72 per tonne at the beginning of December, which is currently being increased to $659,42 per tonne. Due to the increase of $1125 per tonne last month, no country is ready to buy Indian cumin at the current price in the international market.

The demand for Ramadan has already started, but the buyers have been turned away due to the daily price increase. All countries, including Bangladesh and Pakistan, have yet to buy cumin for Ramzan. At present everyone is waiting for the correction in cumin. Foreign purchases will be seen in full force after the correction as the festival of Ramzan is near.

Future Scenario

There is currently no purchase of cumin from China. If China had to buy for Lunar New Year starting from February 1, then China’s purchase would have begun at this time, but China’s purchase is not visible. This means that China will come at the end of March to buy new cumin seeds from India.

Furthermore, due to the terrible condition of Corona in China, there is no possibility of China buying cumin shortly, and another factor to consider is that China also has sufficient stock of cumin to suffice. There is no possibility of a significant correction in Cumin, given the Ramzan demand expected in January. Thus, experts opine that a minor correction will likely be seen in Cumin in the coming week.

The Cumin A Grade 99% Pure prices were Recorded at $4,10 per kg FOB.
