Sesame Market on Roller Coaster Ride Market Demands For Sesame Will Improve The Price

For a couple of weeks stability has been witnessed in sesame and last week mixed trend was noticed in the domestic sesame market.

The extensive local demand for both the white and black sesame has supported the market and will continue to do so in the coming days. There is also a slight increase in the demand for the seeds in the export market.

According to experts, India has got good orders from Korea’s back-to-back two tenders and it has positively impacted the morale of the sesame market. Also, it is being reported, that India does not have enough stock till October – November to meet the market demand for sesame.  Due to late rains in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, the new arrival of white sesame will be late than every year. This will show an increase in the price of white sesame.  However, old stock of sesame is lying in different consumer centers of the country. At present, this stock is being sold at a lower price than the regular price.

The price of white sesame is currently running at $1,62  per kg, while the sale of sesame in stock is being done in the consumer centers for $1,56 – $1,57. With this old stock also lying in every center, there is no possibility of a huge increase in white sesame in this current scenario.

There is less possibility of any immediate increase in black sesame because the arrival is less of new crops in the first phase of Myanmar (Burma). The new crop will start arriving in 15 to 20 days. The quality and price of this crop will determine the prices of black sesame.

It is expected by traders that in the coming days the demand for the sesame will grow due to upcoming domestic festivals in India , mainly from August first week on wards, then market will improve.

It is reported at many areas that white sesame might increase to $1,71 per kg in one and a half months and black will increase approximately to $1,99 per kg. The White Natural Sortex 99.95% prices were Recorded at $1,69 per kg FOB.
