BRNO – As steadily seen in the 2021 harvest season, the market is showing controversial signs regarding the price direction of the new crop poppy seeds. According to the latest news from Czech fields, the new Czech crop is expected as excellent, and the bookings have been moving around 1.75-1.80 EUR FCA CZ. But recently, some Czech traders came up with a 1,89 EUR/Kg < 20 mg poppy price, which is against the information we have got until now.
Hungarian traders would like to see a higher price, around 2,00 EUR, but they can not jump over the reality hence the current price of <10 mg poppy 1.85 EUR/Kg FCA HU. Everybody is waiting for the Spring poppy harvest to start, determining the final Czech benchmark price.
