The Stock of White Sesame Is Less in the International Market

With the completion of 80 to 90% of Korea’s tender, the price of white sesame will remain stable.

There is a difference between the government’s report and the traders’ report regarding the sowing of summer sesame in Gujarat. According to the numbers provided by the government, on March 24 last year, the sowing of summer sesame was reported as 55702 hectares, which is currently reported as 57127 hectares, 48% more than last year. According to the estimates by traders’ sources, the sowing of summer sesame has decreased by 15 to 20%, on the basis the production of summer sesame is 1,25 million tonnes. Last year, the output of summer sesame was around 1,50 million tonnes. The sowing of black sesame seeds is 15 to 20% less.

At present, the arrival is very limited due to the low stock of white sesame in the market, and the demand is also low. 80 to 90% of the white sesame has already been purchased for completion of tender, and the new summer sesame will arrive after 40 to 45 days. Demand is not expected to arise before new crop arrival.
At present, the stock of white sesame is less in the international market, and the demand is also sluggish, due to which the condition of the price is very stable, and markets are not expected to witness a downward trend. According to traders, sesame prices are supposed to remain stable in the near future.
