Türkiye’s Dried Fig Exports Remain Stagnant

The weather, which was above seasonal norms, gave way to rain last week. It is very important for fig trees to receive rain this season for the new season’s harvest, but unfortunately last week’s rain was not enough. No rain is expected for next week. Exports are quite stagnant, while small businesses and exporters run out of dried fig stocks, while large businesses can only meet the needs of their former customers with a small number of stocks under contract. With the start of Ramadan, farmers and businesses are trying to keep the local market alive and make a profit from products that cannot be exported, but market prices are around 250-300 TL or 7,11-8,53€. Until the new harvest arrives, which is still 6 months away, prices will increase even more.
