Dried Figs: Fig Trees Are Still Hibernating AYDIN: New season will start later

As informed before, the weather conditions in the fig growing region Aydın continue in an ordinary course for the fig trees, and until now, fig-trees still hibernate. Market players stated again that the harvest delay is still valid for the moment, but what the remaining period until the new season will bring should be waited and seen.
The fig market is calm. Some companies are closed due to Ramadan, which will last at least until the second week of May, meaning after the Ramadan Holiday. Raw material prices start at 60 TL/kg levels and up since no product is available anymore. Export price offers remained as last week. Exporters still have difficulties in finding containers for shipping, as at the beginning of the season, and freight prices are on a constant upward trend.
The Turkish Lira continued as last week with slight fluctuations and noted today the Usd/TL rate at 14.76 TL (14.64 last week) and Euro/TL rate at 15.86 TL levels (15.82 last week).

Turkey exported 1.272 mt of dried figs and figs products last week, which was 1106 mt during the same week of the previous year. The total exports range at 50.288 mt, being 52.845 mt total in the same period of the last year.
