Dried Figs: Exports continue at full speed

AYDIN: Buyers are still asking for spot shipments

Market players stated that the progress of the new crop is still good so far. The fruit set is also continuing. It is meanwhile observed that there is a good number of figs on the trees for the moment. However, the official yield determination studies will be carried out in August earliest.

As there is no raw material available anymore on the market, traders who still have products on stocks offer very high prices currently. Raw material prices vary between 37 to 40 TL/kg this week. The export prices remained, however, the same varying again hugely on supplier basis.

Turkey’s dried figs exports are still increasing compared with the previous season. Turkey exported last week 815 mt, which was 597 mt during the same week of last year. The total exports ranged at 62.551 mt of the current crop, 62.601 mt in the same period of the last Season. The difference seems to be equalized so far.
