At a meeting on May 30, the Cabinet of Ministers set a zero quota for sugar exports from Ukraine from June 5 to September 15, 2023. According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Permanent Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk in Telegram.

He explained that the relevant changes were made to Annexes 1 and 5 to the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1466 of December 27, 2022 “On Approval of Lists of Goods, Export and Import of which are Subject to Licensing, and Quotas for 2023”.

“Sugar (commodity item according to UKTZED 1701) is included in Annex 1 “Quota volumes of goods whose export is subject to licensing” of Resolution No. 1466 with a quota volume of 0 tons and a licensing period from June 5 to September 15, 2023…” – Melnychuk wrote.

At the same time, sugar is excluded from Annex 5 of the said resolution – “List of goods whose export is subject to licensing”.

As reported by Ukrinform, on May 12, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine abolished export licensing in 2023: live cattle, frozen cattle meat, meat of domestic chickens, meat and edible meat offal, salted or in brine, dried or smoked, edible flour from meat or meat offal, cattle meat, eggs of domestic chickens, rye, oats and millet.
