Positive Start for Corn

During yesterday’s market meeting in Leon, it was decided to start pricing corn at €198/ton. The decision reflects optimism surrounding the recent good performance of international markets, suggesting a positive outlook for the short term if this trend continues.

Mixed Trends in Other Grains

Apart from oats, which have consistently moved against the grain, experiencing a €2 to €5/ton increase, other grains saw their first significant rise in a year.

Factors Driving Price Increases

The increase in prices can be attributed to supply shortages and notably, the rise in exports to Spain following the reopening of borders to Algeria. This surge in demand, particularly for beef during Ramadan, is also contributing to the upward trend in beef prices.

Stability in Other Sectors

In contrast, the remainder of the session saw prices holding steady, providing a calming influence on the market.
