As of December 1, Bulgaria lifted the ban on the import of four agriproducts (wheat, corn, sunflower seeds and rapeseed) from Ukraine. Apkinform reports according to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Bulgaria.
“The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Bulgaria fulfilled its promise to limit the import of these agricultural products until November 30 as much as possible under the Memorandum concluded between the government and the Initiative Committee of the protesting farmers,” said the head of the department Kyryl Vatev.
He also added that during the online meeting with the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solskyy last week, the details of the application of the licensing regime for the export of the specified crops from Ukraine were agreed upon.
“After the expiration of the ban, both countries will strictly monitor that there are no distortions on the market and that the interests of Bulgarian producers, processors and consumers are not undermined,” K. Vatev stressed.
