Market players reported that despite the reversal of the wind in the exchange rates, the export prices increased hugely since the raw material prices remained the same.

Due to the appreciation of the Turkish lira, but the raw material prices remaining the same, sales are seen as impossible at the exponentially rising export prices. For this reason, it is observed that raw material prices in the markets loosened a little. The expectation that demands will be weak in the next two weeks means that the decreases in raw material prices may continue. Raw material prices increased to 87 TL/kg, are nowadays at 70 TL/kg levels again. However, there is no market prediction about the fluctuations in foreign currency and the increase in raw materials. There are opinions that there may be a little more clarity in the markets after the holiday in the new year when buyers start to come again with demands.

Turkey exported 45.217 mt so far, being 41.949 mt last year during the same period. Last week’s exports were 2017 mt apricots being 1545 mt during the same week of last year.
