Market players informed that the endless increases of dried apricots continue and reached 58-60 TL/kg at the beginning of this week. These increases started to scare even the speculators. No reasonable explanation can be given for these increases. For example, type nr.1 (2000 ppm) is this week offered at 7150 Usd/mt on a FOB basis, which was provided at 6200 Usd/mt on a FOB basis last week. These offers are only for few days valid.
Market players also informed that some buyers are not cancelling their orders made at the beginning of the season, making it more difficult for the exporters to realize the shipments with huge losses.
The demands from abroad are also high as well as the exports weekly.

Turkey exported 22.435 mt so far, which was only 19.052 mt last year during the same period. Last week’s exports were 2336 mt apricots, which was 2245 mt during the same week of the previous year.
