Market players stated that the raw material prices are continuously increasing by at least 1 TL for small sizes and 2 TL/kg for big sizes weekly, which increased export prices by at least 50 USD/mt FOB basis this week. Price increases will continue.
There is enormous buying interest by the traders and the exporters, which is pushing up the prices. However, market players state that the demands from abroad are still on average tempo but that this is mainly due to the holiday period, especially in Europe. Exporters expect that requests will increase as of this week. Especially the purchase of sulfured apricots is continuing on a high tempo.
The prices for organic apricots remained as last week at 39-42 TL/kg. It seems that due to unstable raw material prices, the stress on the markets will continue for a while in Turkey. As informed before, the export season made a good start which has sped up this week again.
Turkey exported 5722 mt from the new crop so far, which was 3762 mt during the same period last year.
Turkey exported 2675 mt apricots and apricot products last week, which was 1684 mt during the same week of the previous year.
