Due to the market players, there are not many new demands and the stable situation continues, exporters are waiting for the new crop. The transactions at the Commodity Exchange in Izmir remain as before calm, and trade volumes are small. Currently, exporters are offering the same as last week for the 2021 crop at 1.400-1.450 Usd/mt on FOB Izmir basis for type nr.8 and 1.500-1.550 Usd/mt on FOB Izmir basis for type nr.9.
A promotional event was held due to the start of the June harvest of the grape variety “Spil Karası”, which has been developed with the work that has been going on for 3 years in the greenhouses of Republıc Of Türkiye Mınıstry Of Agrıculture And Forestry Vıtıculture Research Instıtute. Providing information about “Spil Karası”, Institute Director Akay Ünal stated that they are in the final stage of the project, where they aim to supply products and provide high added value from the unit area when there is no product in the market. Stating that growing grapes in greenhouses with soilless agriculture reduces irrigation and fertilization costs. Also, environmental pollution can be prevented thanks to waste management, Ünal stated that they have moved to the dissemination phase of the project.
Governor Yaşar Karadeniz, who attended the event, also stated that Manisa meets 85 percent of the country’s raisin production and 20 percent of fresh grapes and that the efforts of the institute were effective in reaching this size.
Turkish lira started the week by gaining value and noted today the Usd/TL rate at 16,58 TL (17,35 last week) and Euro/TL rate at 17,53 TL levels (18,25 last week).
According to Aegean Exporters’ Associations data, between 19.06.2022 and 25.06.2022, Turkey exported 4.391 tons of seedless raisins with an average price of 1,71 dollars/ton. In the same week of last year, it exported 4.318 tons with an average price of 1,88 dollars/ton. Since the beginning of the season, it has exported 206.280 tons of seedless raisins with an average price of 1,77 dollars/ton.
