Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that the country will extend the price freeze on sunflower oil, sugar, flour, other food products, and gasoline until December 31, 2022. “We have decided. We extend the frozen prices (for food and gasoline) until December 31 and the interest rate until June 30”, wrote the Prime Minister.

The restrictions initially introduced in the country on January 12 as part of measures to combat domestic inflation concern sunflower oil, sugar, flour, meat and milk.
According to official data, the inflation rate in Hungary in August was 15.6%, which is almost 2% higher than in July.
