Dried Apricots: Is there no limit?

Spread the news!

Market players reported that currency fluctuations and the depreciation of TL triggered the increase in apricot prices. Raw material prices increased to 87 TL/kg today, only 70-75 TL/kg last week. So last week’s rumours that the prices will rise to 80 TL/kg shortly are reached only within one week and will continue. Exporters state that they can not foresee where this increase will end and that the increases will continue as long as the TL depreciation continues. Exporters only give prices for firm inquiries as they are not in the position anymore to show prices valid for a few days. Exports are still good, and the demands, but the uncertainty in the markets causes exporters to make sound offers.

Turkey exported 43.199 mt so far, being 40.405 mt last year during the same period. Last week’s exports were 1880 mt apricots, which was 2035 mt during the same week of the previous year.
