Domestic demand typically remains low during the summer season. Currently, 20 thousand tonnes of natural white sesame have been traded to countries such as China, Türkiye, Vietnam, Iran, and 12 thousand tonnes to Korea through tenders.
The arrival of Kharif Sesame is expected to commence in October, providing an additional 62 to 72 thousand tonnes of summer Sesame for the next four months. As 53 thousand tonnes have already arrived, the domestic market is anticipated to witness a balanced demand-supply scenario.
In the international market, Indian Shortex White Sesame is priced at $1825 per ton of China C&F and 991 of 51750. Tanzania Mix is priced at 51850, Tanzania at 51925, Mozambique at 51900 to 1950, and Brazil at 51500. Amidst a notable increase in both domestic and international supply, the pricing landscape for white sesame is set to achieve equilibrium in June. Market experts anticipate a stabilizing trend, with prices ranging between $1,81 and $1,88 per kg. This projection takes into account the favorable supply conditions, ensuring a balanced market dynamic for white sesame. Farmers, traders, and consumers can expect a period of price stability, fostering an atmosphere of predictability and facilitating informed decision-making within the sesame industry.
