Market players reported that exports of around 8.000 mt in December ’21 caused growers and traders to increase the raw material prices after a short easing. Exporters, however, state that buyers are not ready to buy at these prices. The raw material prices increased again to 81 TL/kg, which was fallen to 70 TL / kg TL/kg levels last week. However, the unstable Turkish Lira causes big problems for the exporters to calculate accurate prices. They can also not offer prices to be valid for a few days. It is also informed that Jumbo types are now sold out, leading to further price increases for this type. In summary, exporters state that they cannot predict what will happen in terms of foreign Exchange rates or raw material prices in the coming weeks.

Turkey exported 46.394 mt so far, being 43.146 mt last year during the same period. Last week’s exports were 1.187 mt apricots, which was 1.197 mt during the same week of last year.
