Market players informed that snowfalls have paralyzed life in Malatya since last Wednesday. Some processors have not been able to work since then due to adverse weather conditions. Market players informed that almost all the village roads are closed in the Province and that it is hard to reach those villages. Snowfalls are continuing, and it is forecasted to last the whole week. And this cut off the contact with the towns, so the markets froze, but snow is very welcome for the apricot trees. The prices reduced slightly by approx 50 USD/mt due to these reasons. Exporters stated a decrease in the demands, reducing the prices more during the following days. Also, the exchange rate fluctuations and raw material price fluctuations cause exporters to make healthy calculations. Market players also stated that the lack of container availability causes more and more delays in the shipments.

Turkey exported 50.337 mt so far, being 48.205 mt last year during the same period. Last week’s exports were 1255 mt apricots being 1961 mt during the same week of last year
