Ginger Prices Expected to Stay Strong

The Southwest Monsoon has advanced to Gujarat. However, there are reports of less rainfall than average in several states. As a result, dry ginger is expected to remain strong in the coming days.

About four and a half months ago, the arrival of new dry ginger started in Kochi, Kerala. But, till now, the arrival of spice in major grocery and spot markets has not been regularized, including Kochi.

The price of ginger has increased in the local wholesale fruit-vegetable market at Ishwar, Azadpur. Ginger is coming here only from Bangalore. Here ginger currently remains at $0,28 – $0,32 per kg.

Recently, there was a recession of $0,03 – $0,05.

Dry ginger has been bearish by 0,03 per kg due to the sluggish buying by the stockists. Recently and remained at $1,73 – $1,79 per kg.

Due to the comparatively low price, Aurangabad’s dry ginger remains attractive to the millers. However, despite the attractive price of ginger in the country, farmers are taking a relatively low interest in making dry ginger for the last several years.
