Growth Signal in the Agricultural Sector as a result of Türkiye’s Increasing Exports

Since the beginning of the export season in September 2023, the Nazilli Agriculture and Forestry Directorate’s inspection teams have conducted rigorous export control measures on various agricultural products, including dried apricots, figs, olive, olive oil, and similar items, totaling 19,472 tons, with a significant portion being dried figs. Compared to the same period last year, which saw exports of 16,210 tons, this marks a notable 20% increase in export volume.

In tandem with this surge, a total of 2,684 certificates were issued, comprising 1,310 food health certificates and 1,374 plant health certificates, ensuring the compliance and quality of exported goods.

Challenges Amidst Economic Factors

However, amidst the recent inflationary pressures in Turkey, exporters are facing challenges, particularly with expectations of rising prices for various products, including dried apricots and figs. This economic landscape is prompting exporters to strategize effectively to navigate potential hurdles and ensure continued growth in the sector.

Promoting Quality and Reliability

The Nazilli Agriculture and Forestry Directorate’s proactive approach to export control underscores its commitment to maintaining the quality and reliability of Turkish agricultural products in international markets. By ensuring adherence to stringent standards, the Directorate not only fosters trust among global consumers but also contributes to the sustained success of Turkey’s agricultural export industry.

Future Outlook

As exporters contend with economic fluctuations, proactive measures and strategic planning will be essential to mitigate risks and capitalize on emerging opportunities in the global market. With a solid foundation in quality assurance and regulatory compliance, Turkish agricultural exports are poised to continue their upward trajectory, bolstering the resilience and competitiveness of the sector in the face of evolving challenges.
