By the end of 2022 year Ukrainian farmers have harvested 48.8 million tons of grain and leguminous crops from 10.6 million hectares or 92% of the area.
In particular, the results are the following:
- 20.2 million tons of wheat from 5 million hectares or 100% of the area;
- 5.8 million tons of barley from 1.7 million hectares or 100% of the area;
- 269 thousand tons of peas from 118 thousand hectares or 100% of the area;
- 21.4 million tons of corn from 3.3 million hectares or 78% of the area;
- 158.5 thousand tons of buckwheat from 116 thousand hectares or 98% of the area;
- 101.8 thousand tons of millet from 44.7 thousand hectares or 99% of the area.
In addition, oilseeds harvesting had the following results:
- sunflower – 10.5 million tons from 4.8 million hectares or 99% of the area;
- soybeans – 3.7 million tons from 1.5 million hectares or 99% of the area;
- rapeseed – 3.2 million tons from 1.1 million hectares or 100% of the area.
For the first time in the history of Ukraine, 930 thousand hectares, or 22% of the corn area, remained in the fields. But we hope that dry and warm weather in January will allow to complete the harvest and save farmers’ incomes.
