Thus, the process of implementing the new CAP for 2023-2027, which started in 2018 to modernize and simplify the EU agricultural policy, is coming to an end.

As the voice of the European dairy industry, the EDA has been through the entire development of the new agricultural policy in close contact with all stakeholders to ensure a good outcome for the policy related to dairy products, especially in the Common Market Organization (CMO) Regulation.

As stated in 2021, when the CAP was approved, at a time when sustainability was the focus of policy-making discussions, the new CAP provides the necessary impetus for development and demonstrates flexibility, creating a policy model capable of creating synergies for integration of the European agricultural sector in the ambitious European Green Deal.

€270 billion support

The new CAP will enter into force on 1 January 2023 and will receive support of €270 billion for the period 2023-2027. In addition, the EDA Secretariat, as part of its ongoing work on EU agricultural policy, has already started work on planning and holding a special CAP workshop in 2023 to discuss the new CAP after 2027.
