BUDAPEST – After the first impression of the barley harvest, the yields are pretty high: 10 – 10,5 mt/ha. The farmers are happy regarding the big volume of new crops and the good prices of grains.
Wheat yield is a question as to the 40° Celsius heat shock that interrupted the riping last week and caused a foreseeing 30% loss. Wheat seeds can not get enough weight and tension in big hot hence the grade A and milling quality wheat is expected to be less than the desired quantity.
Prices for milling wheat have fallen slightly since the previous week and currently stand at 174 EUR/mt FCA Hungary.
