Black Pepper Price Trend Will Not Be Improving

Spread the news!

Monsoon activity remains active in the major pepper-producing states. There are also reports of floods in some areas of Karnataka. In contrast to the earlier rainfall deficit, the monsoon rainfall has now become somewhat higher than the long period average.

The rainfall distribution remains abnormal as the capital Delhi, and northern states like Haryana and Punjab are still awaiting good rains. On the other hand, the new crop of Markara in Karnataka is also expected to be relatively weak. In Kerala, the arrival of the new crop of black pepper in the spot markets is negligible. However, there is negligible selling of farmers there, affecting the markets’ sentiments.

Business activity in pepper in Kerala and Karnataka remained sluggish to normal. There are reports of deals being made directly to the consuming spot markets from the rural areas of Kerala. The main reason is that the local buyers buy black pepper directly from the farmers.

In the Delhi market, the price is affected by the arrival of Brazilian goods. As a result, there is no prospect of a rise in pepper on the spot in the coming days.
