Small cardamom here 7.5 mm remained frozen at the pre-banded level of $12,51 per kg as stockists’ buying remained sluggish even at the reduced price.

In the Sugandhagiri Spices Promoters and Traders Private Limited auction held today, the arrival of small cardamom has come down to 46,692 kg. Its average auction price rose to $ 10,39 per kg due to comparatively low arrivals and strong buying. Earlier, in this auction held on July 2, this price was $10,23. There is no possible slowdown in small cardamom in the spot markets in the coming day or two.

In the last few days, quality-wise goods have gained $0,25/$0,38 per kg due to reduced arrivals of small cardamom at auction centers. The price increase is also due to the rise in the buying by the exporters. The grain of small cardamom crop coming to the growing areas of South India is reported to be good. Despite all this, the demand is building up due to the high fall of cardamom from Guatemala and the small Indian cardamom process being low in the international market.

According to experts, the price is possibly strengthening by $0,63 per kg in the coming days.

The new crop will not likely arrive for the next twenty days, so the boom for the current spice will continue.

The Cardamom green 8 mm prices were Recorded at $17,70 per kg FOB.
