The arrival of coriander is increasing rapidly in all the states. However, the moisture content in fresh coriander is high, and there is no arrival of high-green quality coriander. The arrival of dried and best green coriander is expected to start after March 15.
Crop is estimated to be at least 1.75 crore bags
In the current season, 6.0 to 6.5 million bags in Gujarat, 6.0 to 6.5 million bags in Madhya Pradesh, and 2.5 million bags in the Rajasthan coriander crop are estimated. Coriander crop is estimated to be 2.5 million bags in the states including Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, and Bihar. The stock of old coriander is estimated to be 1.5 million bags. In this way, the crop of coriander is estimated to be 1.75 to 1.90 crore bags. (1 crore=10 million)
There is no demand in the market due to the estimation of a bumper crop in coriander, due to which there is a possibility of a decrease in the price. Especially last year, there was a massive slowdown in coriander due to the import of coriander much more than expected from Russia, Bulgaria, and other countries.
Fear of bumper production
Due to the fear of bumper production of coriander in the whole country, the purchase of coriander is being done very carefully. In the coming days, after stabilizing the price of coriander, there is an assumption that there will be a large-scale purchase. All the spice companies of the country are expected to come to the market to purchase coriander after March 15.
Some farmers have been compulsorily forced to sell despite the fall in the price of coriander. Due to this, 3.0 million bags in Gujarat and 7.0 million bags in the country will come to sell in the coriander market in the next two months. New stockists will also enter coriander in a big way. According to market experts, there is no possibility of more than a significant decline in coriander from the current price due to the attraction of stockists and an increase in the purchase of hedgers.
The coriander seeds prices were recorded at $0,94 per kg FOB.
