Demand from Russia and Ukraine for coriander has stopped due to the war.
The new crop from Bulgaria, Spain, and Syria will hit the market after July 15. However, due to less rainfall in Bulgaria, there will be reduced crop production than last year. As a result, the price of Bulgarian coriander is expected to be between $1,00 and $1,20 per kg.
Syrian coriander is estimated to open from $1,20 to $1,50 per kg.
Indian coriander is currently spoken in the international market for $1,50 to $1,70 per ton, which is relatively higher than the others. Also, Spain’s crop being pesticide-free, will go to European countries. Indian coriander is not fully pesticide-free, so its demand will be limited in the European market.
For FY 2021-22, the export was 47 thousand tonnes compared to the previous year’s 58 thousand tonnes. The current year’s export is estimated to be 49 thousand tonnes. But with less local and international demand, the price is expected to decrease, but according to market experts, it will eventually increase by $0,19 – $0,26 per kg.
The price will increase because 85 percent of the crop has already arrived in the market and now eight more months are to go before the new crop comes. A significant portion of the crop arrived within the first two to three months due to the high price of the spice.
As a result, the market will undergo some coriander price fluctuation.
The Coriander Eagle 5% Split prices were Recorded at $1,57 per kg FOB.
