Market players reported that the raw material prices continued to increase, which resulted in further increases in the export prices, but the depreciation of the Turkish Lira equaled these increases for this week.
Raw material prices of small-sized figs for example, which were 16-17 TL/kg at the beginning of the Season, increased to 27-28 TL/kg nowadays. Big-sized figs are handled between 40-45 TL/Kg. Exporters state that the shipments of figs are fast, but there is no idea yet about what might happen after the New Year, however price increases will continue.
Today, the Turkish Lira noted the Usd/TL rate at 11.42 TL ( 10.05 last week) and Euro/TL rate at 12.85 TL levels (11.48 last week), meaning a depreciation of almost 11% compared to the previous week.
