fennel seeds, A Harvest Surge in Gujarat Delights Fennel Farmers

Fennel to Run on a Sloppy Road

Spread the news!

The fennel crop has come all around Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. Thin fennel has also been prepared in the Lucknow line of UP, and harvesting has also started in isolated areas. The crop is good all-round, so the future looks bountiful.

New crop is ready

The new crop of fennel is all set and ready. There are two varieties of fennel, thin and thick. Coarse fennel is in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, while thick fennel is in Lucknow, Unnao, Sitapur, Hardoi, and Sultanpur lines of Uttar Pradesh. Coarse fennel has started coming and is available in domestic shops at $2,14-$2,16 per kg. Average quality goods are at $1,60-$1,62 per kg. Thus, crops are abundant, and the demand is sluggish. Thus, bearishness prevails.

Farmers preferred fennel over other crops

Farmers had sown fennel keeping the excellent price of the past in mind. This time last year, it was sold at $1570/MT. Thus, farmers cultivated fennels instead of any other commodities. Further, there are reports of good crop production in all the fennel-producing areas. The crop usually starts arriving around the festival of colors, that’s Holi, but in the current season, the crop arrivals are ten days late. However, the crop condition is said to be good.

Thus, considering all the circumstances, like good crop production and less demand, market veterans believe that fennel will witness a sloppy trend soon.

The fennel seeds grade A 99 prices were recorded at $2,25 per kg FOB.
