Kazakhstan significantly increased soybean exports at the beginning of this year due to the opening of the Chinese market.
According to APK-Inform with reference to official statistics, in January 2023, Kazakh exported 4.98 thousand tonnes of soybeans. The lion’s share of oilseed supplies fell to China – 4.56 thsd tonnes and the remaining volume was sent to Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that in January 2022, Kazakhstan exported only 195 tonnes of soybeans (the entire volume went to Uzbekistan). China did not purchase the oilseed during this period.
According to the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in 2022, the soybean harvest in Kazakhstan totaled 250.4 thousand tonnes.
