Record-breaking Harvest

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye İbrahim Yumaklı disclosed the quantities of sugar, molasses, and fresh beet pulp produced by TÜRKŞEKER. Yumaklı stated that TÜRKŞEKER made payments totaling 21 billion TL(59,6 million€) to 40,132 producers during the 2023/2024 campaign period.

Remarkable Achievements

Minister Yumaklı highlighted that Türkiye Şeker Fabrikaları A.Ş. (TÜRKŞEKER) concluded the 2023/2024 campaign period with a historic record. He emphasized that during this period, 9.06 million tons of beets were processed, yielding 1.161 million tons of sugar and 418,800 tons of molasses, along with 2.905 million tons of fresh beet pulp as a byproduct.

Pioneering Performance

Yumaklı praised TÜRKŞEKER for achieving the pinnacle of beet and sugar production in the last 25 years with its 14 operational sugar factories, accounting for a 37% share in the sector.

Extended Campaign Period

The 2023/2024 campaign, which commenced on September 11, 2023, with the Ereğli Sugar Factory and concluded on March 12, 2024, with the Ilgın Sugar Factory, marked the longest campaign period since 1998, spanning an average production period of 155 days.

Support to Producers

Throughout the campaign, TÜRKŞEKER remained steadfast in supporting beet farmers, making payments totaling 21 billion TL to 40,132 producers. The Minister expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, particularly the producers, for their contributions to this historic success.

Minister Yumaklı conveyed optimism for continued success in sugar beet production, pledging to advance the country’s position in this field with the efforts of producers and support from industry stakeholders.
