Kerala experienced an exceptional monsoon season, with rainfall surpassing normal levels. Nonetheless, minimal sales by farmers have cast a shadow over market sentiment. Reports indicate direct transactions between rural areas of Kerala and consumer markets, as Disavari buyers directly engage with farmers in purchasing black pepper.

The trend of direct trading in major commodities, including pepper, has gained momentum in Kerala over recent years. Consequently, market activities in numerous shops across the state have remained sluggish. Thus, black pepper is poised to maintain its resolute stance in the foreseeable future, exuding strength and resilience in the face of prevailing challenges.
