Poppy Seeds: Hungary imports from Czech Republic Hungarian manufacturers started to import poppy seed from the Czech Republic to cover their demand

The bad conditions on the poppy fields in Hungary are not over. More and more loss is reported about the poppy fields either because of no germination, heavy wind or frost. Estimation of loss is 30% or more, the final situation is early to be realised.

Hungarian manufacturers started to import poppy seed from the Czech Republic to cover their demand before Easter and until the new crop harvest. Some trucks of Hungarian poppy are said to be still available, but the price is pretty high according to the situation: 2,15 EUR/Kg FCA HU provided free stocks can be found.
