The sesame market has been heading strong, with no sign of a slowdown at present amid a shortage of good quality crops for sesame. The movement in the sesame market now depends upon how much portion India gets in the Sesame Korean Tender.
Leading brokers said that the market cooled down for a couple of days after seeing a rally in white sesame over the last week. Prices were almost stable in both white and black. In the meantime, if India gets a significant share in Korean Tender, then the rise will continue in the second quarter.
Demand for white sesame continues to rise in the domestic and international markets. The white sesame has shown a bullish trend for the last four days, while the black sesame has not seen much movement and remained stable. White sesame has witnessed a hike of more than $1,33 in the previous five days.
According to the sources, there is no doubt that the market will pick up further if India gets a more significant stake in Korea’s announced tender. This week in Gujarat, one of the major producers of sesame crop, the movements and deals were 1500 times in white sesame and 600 times in black.

Total arrivals of the week are 592.27 tonnes, and the maximum was from Gujarat 282.82 tonnes.
