ODESA: Ukrainian traders expect Arabic countries to increase their pulses purchases before Ramadan have not been met. The demand from these countries is rather weak in February. It can be easily explained by the unwillingness of Ukrainian farmers to reduce their prices. At the same time, the main competitors from Russian Federation are more flexible in prices formation. The purchasing prices in Ukrainian ports vary from 350 to 370 $/t and have a tendency to increase. The residual stocks in Ukraine are already not very big. And both Ukrainian and EU cereals producers are ready to give higher prices for good quality raw materials.
Green peas prices range is still rather big, depending on the percentage of bleached and other colour peas. CPT prices in Odessa start from 400 $/t and can reach 450 $/t. Export is rather slow as buyers are unwilling to pay higher prices for Ukrainian origin giving preference to other origins.
