According to Conab monitoring data, as of January 21, soybean sowing in Brazil was almost completed and oilseed harvesting had already begun – 2% of the planned areas were threshed, inferior to last year’s results (6%).
As specified, the soybean harvesting campaign is mainly carried out in the state of Mato Grosso in Brazil , where 7% of the area is threshed (16% a year earlier).
It is also noted that the recent rains have reduced the lack of moisture in the soil in the west and south-west of the state of Paraná, as well as improved the conditions for the development of plants in Mato Grosso do Sul. At the same time, heavy rainfall had a negative impact on the development of soybean crops in the state of Mato Grosso, where cases of fungal diseases are recorded.
