36.5 Million Tons of Oilseeds Were Processed in EU

The European Vegetable Oil Association (FEDIOL) estimated that about 1.7 million tonnes of rapeseed from oilseeds were processed at EU oil extraction plants in December, the highest monthly figure since August 2022.

As for soybeans, the enterprises processed about 1.1 million tons of oilseeds, which is almost a third higher than the November figures from FEDIOL, however, 7% lower than the level in December 2021.

For sunflower, the situation is almost similar: there is an increase of 6% per month. For further processing, oil refineries received 511 thousand tons of seeds – this is 6% more than in the previous reporting month, but unchanged by December 2021.

In general, in 2022, a little more than 36.55 million tons of oilseeds were processed at European facilities, which is 1.34 million tons weaker than the result of 2021.
